From 1943-45 Duxford Airfield was home to the U.S.A.A.F. 78^th Fighter Group. This consisted of three Fighter squadrons and a number of Service Squadrons who were considered the backbone of the airfield.

Clad in their HBT coveralls the metal workers, carpenters, armourers, riggers and fitters were just some of the specialists who ensured the aircraft were kept serviceable.

We have collaborated with Papa Nui Cap Co to produce an A3 HBT mechanics cap customised with an Aircraft Restoration Co patch. Telling the story of Duxford’s engineering heritage both past and present.

These caps are hand crafted in Japan from Herringbone Twill and Papa Nui’s Army Duck Cloth visor lining for superior styling options. Finished with ARCO DX engineering department patch.
